Xinran Wang is an Assistant Professor of Strategic Management at the Zicklin School of Business. She holds a PhD in Strategy, Entrepreneurship, & Organizations from the Haslam College of Business at the University of Tennessee. Dr. Wang’s research examines the multifaceted challenges that organizations face during times of turmoil and uncertainty. Her particular passion lies in the strategic management of contentious issues across various levels, encompassing corporate, industrial, and societal contexts. Drawing from collective cognitions and social psychologies, her research delves into domains such as firm crises, industrial stigmatization, social disapproval, and national animosity. Her work uncovers hidden nuances and dynamics through analyzing massive, complex, and unstructured data. Her research has been recognized through best paper awards from renowned academies such as the Academy of Management, Strategic Management Society, and Oxford University Centre for Corporate Reputation, and featured in notable platforms including Academy of Management Insights and YouTube channels, magazines for local business communities, and influential bloggers.
