In collaboration with the Field Center for Entrepreneurship at Baruch College, the Baruch Collegiate Entrepreneurs Organization (CEO) invites all Baruch College students to submit for the annual Business Plan & Pitch Competition.
Finalists invited to the pitch event of the competition will be determined by the Lawrence N. Field Center for Entrepreneurship based upon the contents of the business plan deck.
Prizes
First Place: $1,500 will be awarded to 1 student or team
Second Place: $500 will be awarded to 1 student or team
The prize awards are generously supported by Field Center for Entrepreneurship.
Business Plan Submission Requirements:
-business plan submitted as a PDF presentation deck
-no more than 25 slides with company name, team member(s), and introduction, problem, solution, customer and market analysis (market size, market segmentation, and potential market share), company’s development stages for its product, service and/or intellectual, property (e.g. patents, licenses, etc.), business strategy (How do you make money?), competitor analysis, management team including relevant experience, operation plan (office locations and cost, staff training and compensation,
customer service), use of funds if you win.
Pitch Competition Requirements:
Be prepared to pitch your business plan for no more than 7 minutes and discuss MITB
Market – is there a market for your product; how big?
Idea – Is this a good idea; is there a real problem; does your product/service
solve it?
Team – Who is the management team; Skills, experiences, knowledge about the
industry; why are you the best person to solve this problem?
Business Plan – How well and detailed you executed the business plan.

March 15th: Finalists Notified

-6 Finalists will be chosen and notified to prepare for the in-person pitch competition

-Each participant will have 5 minutes to present before an audience of peers, faculty members and distinguished guests.
Competition Rules:
A business plan may be submitted by an individual or a team consisting of multiple people, but all team members must be current students at Baruch College. ALL entries must be early-stage ideas, and not fully developed businesses. Specifically, the idea:
1. Cannot be currently generating revenues
2. Cannot already have received funding or financing of any form (other than competition prize money)
3. Cannot have any legal form of incorporation
Okay to include CUNY teammates, but at least one, must be a Baruch student.
