Pop Up Makerspace

MakerHub at Baruch presents the Pop Up Makerspace, in which students are invited to learn about design & technology, participate in workshops in 3D printing & modeling and Arduino, and create their own projects. With Arduino, you’ll learn how to use the open-source prototyping platform that has powered thousands of projects worldwide. Use modular circuit boards designed to read inputs – light on a sensor, a finger on a button, or a Twitter message – and turn it into an output such as activating an LED light or even publishing something online.

Fall 2017

1. Do I need to have any prior knowledge of the technology? No. Our workshops are designed for those at any proficiency level.
2. Will I have the chance to make anything during the workshops? Yes! You can continue working on your project until one week before the next Pop Up Makerspace. The winning design(s) will be announced at the next Pop Up Makerspace. We will email you with details after you attend.
3. I can’t make it to this workshop. When is the next one? The MakerHub hosts workshops throughout the academic year. Check back later for the Fall 2017 calendar.
Thank you to those who came to our last Pop Up Makerspace! We had a blast teaching students how to use cool technology, talking about creative ideas for new projects, and seeing students from a range of majors take an interest in 3D printing, Arduino, origami, Legos, Makey Makeys and more. Check this page for updates.
