The Weissman Center’s Outreach Activities

Over the past almost 30 years, the Weissman Center for International Business has worked to promote ties between the academic community at Baruch and the business community. Currently, the Center works with more than 60 partner organizations with a strong involvement in accounting, finance, and trade. Our work with these organizations contributes to both the economic well-being of New York City and the success of Baruch students upon graduation.

The Center offers:
  • Training, networking events and seminars WTWNYC.org.
  • Information resources such as NYCdata; and
  • Platforms such as the WCIB Occasional Paper series where practitioners and academics can share practical data-driven research on international business topics.

The COVID-19 pandemic has created many challenges for New York City’s small and medium-sized businesses both at home and in their international operations. Supply chain disruptions have been significant. As a board member of the Manhattan Chamber of Commerce and of the NY District Export Council, the Center has helped to connect local businesses to resources and information they need to navigate this challenging business environment.
