Thinking about studying abroad? Think about it NOW!
The best way to learn about studying abroad is to continue reading the Study Abroad website. The three main sections of the Study Abroad website-Plan, Choose, Apply-provide important information about all aspects of your study abroad journey. Please consult the website in preparation for your Virtual Information Session or In-Person or Virtual Study Abroad Advising Session, and use it as a resource for questions you might have.
Your first step on your study abroad journey is to complete the online Study Abroad Virtual Information Session, where you will be given an overview of your study abroad options and the application process. The Study Abroad Virtual Information Session is a self-activated video that is accessible on the web. To gain access, please log in to the Study Abroad Virtual Information Session using your Baruch username and password. If you are not sure what your Baruch username is, please use this BCTC web page to find out.
If you are not a student at Baruch College, but wish to gain access to the Baruch College Study Abroad Virtual Information Session, please contact the Baruch College Study Abroad Office (study.abroad@baruch.cuny.edu).

In-Person and Virtual Drop-in Advising Hours for Fall 2025
The members of the Study Abroad Office staff are here to answer any questions you might have about your study abroad plans. During the Fall 2025 semester, we hold scheduled Drop-in Hours Monday-Friday. Some of these Drop-in Hours are done virtually, and some are done in person.
Most students should attend a Study Abroad Virtual INFORMATION Session (see above) before speaking with an advisor in the Study Abroad Office during Drop-in Hours. Graduate students are NOT required to attend a Virtual Information Session as a first step. Instead, they should speak with the Director of Study Abroad during a Study Abroad VIRTUAL Advising Session or during In-Person Drop-in Hours (see below).

Study Abroad VIRTUAL Advising Sessions
How do I sign up for a VIRTUAL Advising Session?
Request a Study Abroad Virtual Advising Session using the sign-up form for a VIRTUAL Advising Session.
When requesting a Study Abroad VIRTUAL Advising Session, please follow the directions on the form. In particular:
- make sure you register for the correct date, day of the week and time segment
- indicate whether you wish to speak to any Study Abroad Advisor, the Associate Director of Study Abroad or the Director of Study Abroad.
How do I know when my VIRTUAL Advising Session takes place?
If you sign up for a VIRTUAL Advising Session, you will be sent an invitation to a Zoom call with a specific time slot during scheduled Drop-in hours.
Please note: This invitation to a VIRTUAL Advising Session is NOT automatically generated when you submit your sign-up form.
You could receive the invitation anytime between the time you request a Virtual ADVISING Session and the beginning of Drop-In Hours on the day you requested your VIRTUAL Advising Session.
What if I have time conflicts with all Virtual Drop-in Hours?
If your work or other commitments make it impossible for you to see an advisor during the Study Abroad Office’s scheduled Drop-in Hours for Virtual Advising Sessions,
please indicate this in the final comments field on the sign-up form and send a follow-up email to
study.abroad@baruch.cuny.edu.
Study Abroad IN-PERSON Advising Sessions
How do I sign up for an IN-PERSON Advising Session?
Study Abroad IN-PERSON Advising Sessions are typically NOT scheduled.
IN-PERSON Advising Sessions take place during In-Person Drop-in Hours on Mondays and Thursdays.
How does it work?
Just come to the Study Abroad Office location during our In-Person Drop-in Hours. The Study Abroad Office is part of the Weissman Center for International Business. We are located on the 8th Floor of the
“J-Annex,” 137 East 25th Street.
When you get to the Weissman Center, scan the QR code displayed in the reception area and sign in.
During IN-PERSON Drop-in Hours, students are normally seen in the order in which they signed in.
On the form, you can indicate whether you wish to speak to the Director of Study Abroad, the Associate Director of Study Abroad or any Study Abroad Advisor.
Special Circumstances
Changes in Drop-in Hours
Our Drop-in Hours may change during official holidays or for other reasons. If this happens, we will be happy to rearrange any scheduled advising sessions that might have been affected.
Availability of the Director of Study Abroad
The Director of Study Abroad, Dr. Richard Mitten, is not always available during scheduled Drop-in Hours. If you need to speak with Dr. Mitten personally and he is unavailable during the scheduled Drop-In Hours you requested, you will be notified to re-schedule.
