Zicklin School Partners with Weissman School to Launch Financial Engineering Hub

May 12, 2021

On May 9, Baruch College President S. David Wu announced the launch of the Financial Engineering Hub at Baruch — a collaboration between the Zicklin School of Business and the Weissman School of Arts and Sciences.

This interdisciplinary enterprise will build on the world-renowned Baruch MFE Program, draw on the excellence of faculty in both schools, and grow to include new degree offerings and a center for corporate engagement and partnership.

The Financial Engineering Hub will extend Zicklin’s expertise worldwide with a range of programs and resources that will roll out in the coming months and years.

In the fall, a public-facing Center for Financial Engineering will also open at the Zicklin School, guided by industry leaders to provide partnership and networking opportunities.

In the short term, co-chairs and a Steering Committee comprised of faculty from Zicklin and Weissman will be named. The committee will be charged with monitoring the evolution of the field, proposing refinements to the existing curriculum, and developing new offerings such as dual-degree, executive, and non-degree programs.

The academic Financial Engineering program will continue to evolve and grow within the discipline, offering students the finest education in the field. Together, the Center for Financial Engineering and the Financial Engineering academic programs will present Baruch students, alumni, and industry professionals with unsurpassed and comprehensive opportunities for intellectual and professional advancement and engagement.
