An audience of 40, including 27 Business Academy students, listened as Gaoussou Lelenta (BBA, ’10), Mevlan Mata (BBA, ’14), and Gayetri Nanda (BBA, ’14) talked about their careers at top companies in healthcare and finance. Gaoussou is digital finance manager at Pfizer, Mevlan is vice president and financial consultant at Charles Schwab, and Gayetri is senior manager of early career programs and strategy at Healthfirst.

In a panel discussion moderated by Anthony Meyers, a doctoral candidate in management at the Zicklin School of Business, the trio described how their experiences at the Zicklin School, both in the classroom and beyond, positively affected their career trajectories. They also fielded questions from Academy students about how to approach decision-making, develop a growth mindset, and maximize their educational experiences at school and in the

workforce.

The Baruch Business Academy launched in fall 2021 to partner with CUNY community colleges to provide a transparent, predictable, and smooth path for students to transition into Baruch’s Zicklin School of Business, coupled with an organizational structure for student support that includes peer and faculty mentorship, community-building events, and early access to Baruch’s career readiness programming. The Academy’s overarching long-term goal is to co-create the elements of support that will empower students on their way to and through Baruch, to a successful career.
