Zicklin Undergrads Win Scholarships to Study Marketing

October 1, 2024

Four marketing majors in the Class of 2026 at the Zicklin School of Business have won scholarships from the Advertising Research Foundation (ARF), a nonprofit industry association whose members include advertisers, ad agencies, research firms, and media companies.

Danny Chen, Danielle Colon, Naia Griffith, and Rachel Smith (shown clockwise from upper left) each received a Workforce Institute for Diversity and Excellence (WIDE) scholarship, which is offered to students from disadvantaged backgrounds who are interested in careers in advertising, marketing, media and market research, and data analytics. Each will receive $5,000, or $2,500 per semester, for the current academic year, renewable for the following year. Scholars also get the opportunity to engage with the WIDE learning labs and interact with coaches and mentors in the program.

Naia, a marketing major, is especially looking forward to the opportunity to find mentors “who can help me transition from college to the workforce.” She plans to pursue an advertising career in the entertainment industry.

“We are so proud of Danny, Danielle, Naia, and Rachel for receiving this richly deserved honor,” said Karthik Sridhar, chair of the Allen G. Aaronson Department of Marketing and International Business. “The Zicklin School is committed to nurturing future leaders who will go on to transform the marketing landscape.”
