The fellowship supports students with a strong interest in risk oversight, business strategy, and enterprise risk management. As part of the fellowship, Jona is currently helping Mr. Lam, a noted risk expert and a member of the Zicklin Dean’s Advisory Council, with research and content creation toward the launch of a certificate program for advanced risk management professionals.
Jona, an operations manager at Compass, a real estate firm, is an Albanian native who earned a bachelor’s degree in English language and literature in her native country before immigrating here only five years ago. She says Mr. Lam chose her for her “multitasking abilities and get-it-done attitude.”
“I work full time and go to school full time, and I also had an earlier internship while maintaining the same schedule, so I have good time management skills,” Jona noted. “He believes it’s important to get things done in a timely manner, and he feels I can do that.”
