Zicklin MBA Alum Creates LGBTQ+ Scholarship
Eric Pliner (MBA, ’10; center), the keynote speaker at Baruch’s first annual LGBTQ+ Lavender Graduation ceremony, has launched the Pliner-Bloom Family Scholarship to support Zicklin graduate students who demonstrate active support and a dedication to advocacy for the LGBTQ+ community.

Zicklin Teams Place First and Second in Cyber Case Competition
In May, a team of Zicklin School undergraduate and graduate students placed first in the Student Cybersecurity Case Study Competition, organized by the New York metropolitan chapter of ISACA, an international professional association focused on risk governance. A team of Zicklin School undergraduates took second place in the same contest.
Zicklin MBA Grad Is the Boss of Moss
A few weeks before graduation, Omar Alrifai (MBA, ’23) won first prize at CUNY CLASH, an annual business pitch competition sponsored by CUNY Startups and held at the Lawrence N. Field Center for Entrepreneurship. His idea? A moss wall on the Clivner=Field Plaza that will double as a natural air filter.
